60 X 60mm 3mm thick laser cut mdf

I know many of them are 60x60mm

Does anyone know what size the bases are on the Based Miniatures in the Battalion deals?

They look like they quite comfortably fit 6 troops + a Sgt or officer and also room for a ragged line formation so not as tightly packed

Also what is the best colour to paint the bases so the figures show clearly and don't get hidden or over shadowed in base colour paint? I have grass tufts and grass flowers but the bases look quite pale I'm not sure what the colour is :-s
