I must admit that I prefer the system used in BtLB and RtE for the sole reason that I didn't spend all that time painting the little buggers up just to see them languishing on a shelf; I enjoy the spectacle too much.

3. Produce a new book that incorporates revised mechanisms and other new useful and related period material like scenarios. Barry, I really enjoy these rules and would be averse to seeing them changed beyond all recognition. Why fix what isn't broken? Now, having got that off my chest, there are re...

Hi Jim, From what limited reading I have done on the period so far, column of attack was not a viable or recognised formation although, having said that, someone will no doubt point out the exceptions that prove the rule. Columns were used mainly for getting from one part of the battlefied to anoth...

I have also watched this and can recommend it. The perspective is almost spooky.

Clarence,

I do sincerely hope that you find the contact lense that you are searching for in the second image.

Seriously though, the whole thing looks great.

Warmest regards,

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the answers. Rather than create a new topic, I thought I'd continue this post with request for your methods of basing. Not the size of bases, but the materials used.

Are there any existing articles on this?

Regards,

...I would suggest hardback. Barry, I'm giving this a bit more stress along with my thoughts to see what the rest of the guys and your good self think. Two months ago I spent £25 on buying Foundry's hardback Napoleon and will shortly be forking out £30 on Rick Priestly's hardback Black Powder . I a...

Gentleman, Further to my last post, I should point out that I am an experienced painter although not in the same class as Barry or Churchill. I paint to a reasonable "wargames" standard but, I really want my BtLB armies to stand out. I don't think I can manage the eyes at my age and with my eyesigh...

BLACK or WHITE?

Gentlemen, I am about to embark on buying and painting up French and Allied armies for BtLB. Now, when I first painted metal miniatures back in 1973 I used a white undercoat. I graduated to black later on. Black was more forgiving and, if you missed a bit, there wasn't this great white patch glarin...

It looks as if I'm going to have to dust off the first metal miniature armies I ever collected. Minifigs' 25mm (well nearly) French and British painted in Humbrol enamels from 1973 to 1978. Based six to a 60mm x 40mm stand for infantry and three to a 75mm x 40mm stand for cavalry. I started off usin...

Re: WSS Scenario book Plz Plz Plz

...Ooooo... I want to paint up the mistresses!!! :D Clarence, As you probably know, I am just getting into this period and starting to collect some serious lead. I like the look of Barry's "Luxembourg" vignette in the BtLB rulebook and this has given me a thought for a commander base to represent m...
