Re: Where is WARFARE range going next?

Just wondering, in which armies did cuirassiers wear the cuirass under the coat? The French, maybe some British regiments, possibly some Dutch and Germans. I believe the Saxons did, but that may be later in the period. Catalans surviving to 1713 did not, but I don't know about any of the Italian tr...

Re: Anyone interested in an R2E campaign?

1) Don't forget the mandatory taunting and propaganda phases!

2) Having different players fight and move the men on the maps is prolly a plus.

I don't have the troops to fight, but I can certainly look at some maps and put somebody in a sticky wicket!

Painting Scottish thistles

I am priming figures for a general command stand for my Sassanid Persians, and two of the horses I have available to use have beautifully sculpted flowers on the horse barding, and they look like the thistles on Scottish flags and emblems. Hence the topic. How do you folks recommend painting the flo...

Re: SALUTE: WAS IT JUST ME OR.....

Barry, it could have been worse. I was at Origins last year on Saturday. It was held in the Columbus Convention Center, and the center was double booked with a Democratic National Committee fundraiser where the keynote speaker was Vice President Joe Biden. Origins was full of LARP (live action role ...

There are also three English supplements about the fighting in Catalonia put out by http://desperta-ferro-ed.blogspot.com/ Two cover the 1713-1714 (Defiant Principality and Catalonia Stands Alone) and one about the English expeditionary force in Catalonia (God Save Catalonia, which is not downloadab...

Again, my thanks for the information and opinion. I have wanted to collect a small Maison du Roi and I'm now convinced enough to do so with pride!

It may well have come down to the classic cavalry decider. He with the last reserve wins.

Re: Cuirassiers du Roi

Guys, Do you think that the French were disadvataged in Flanders by not having armoured cavalry (apart from a number of Bavarian squadrons?) in their battles against the Allies? Theo In a word, not really. What mattered most for heavy cavalry was horseflesh and discipline. Armor was an incremental ...

Re: WSS French Flags

Rob, In wargaming terms, then, will this mean it is fine for me to have 'brigades' made up of 2x2 battalion regiments - for the easthetics of having lots of different flags and regiments in the field! Best Wishes Theo Anything you want, really. Brigades were often 4 battalions, but 3-6 are plausibl...

Splendid! Though I'm thinking less Jacobite and more French.

Will you have a charging command pack to go with them?
