I'm a little confused! I've painted some Russians for the crimean war, and used a plate in "19th Century Uniforms" as a guide (its a new book, and i've forgotten the authors name). So i painted all my little fellas in Brown/tan greatcoats and red collar and epaluetts and red sleeves. Then on browsing...
Your right, very hard to resist!
You could use the Black powder rules, although not universally popular on this forum, with a little tweak.

Cheers Darrell,
I was thinking plastic would be cheaper, but when all is said and done , metal has the weight and seems nicer to paint. So early metal saxons it is! And your right, they are nice sculpts.

It could be argued i've wasted a lot of time painting not very impressive figures or playing games on a table that count for nothing in the real world. I've wasted time in supermarket queues, petrol stations and watching crap T.V. Listening to boring people and waiting for people to answer telephones...

They paint up well though,my major gripe is my inability to cut the figures out of the sprues! I know the knife is sharp, as my numerous cuts will testify, but the plast...
The slang term for people just down the road from me is "Pie eaters" or Wiganers if you prefer. However ,whilst they have a pie eating contest every year and are famously proud of these pies, i was surprised to find the nickname was given to them by other northern mining towns who during a miners st...
