Bob, I personally do not have a picture of the guns battery but you can see it in Wargames Illustrated Issue 98 in which three excellent photos by DMac appear on page 10. Unfortunately I do not have the back issues of WI on disc and so cannot show them here. If anyone has that disc and wants to down...

The Flussgarten Rushes!

Nope!, that is not a medical condition similar to Montezuma's Revenge or the Delhi Belly it is in fact a taster of the latest League of Gentlemen Wargamer's(Caledonian Chapter) Mega Bash. The legends are all in their own lunchtimes. The tales of Bob(Beau Sabreur)Lauder, Kevin(Schnapps) Calder, Dave(...

Andy, the Event cards will be in the next Rev of ULB. I just didn't have time to get them in the last Rev. As for Scenarios.... I have them coming out of my ears! I have at least 80 finished scenarios with orbats, special rules, game reports etc. These are Historical, What Ifs and ficticious...

The better established and more experienced defintely would ; The Guards, Grand Prior's, Bellew's etc. I suspect the others would have something that they called grenadier companies but these may just have been the bigger, fitter or stronger(or braver) men with no real extra training. A grenadier sh...

Guys,

I have a FULL orbat for Aughrim somewhere. It not only has the regiments in detail but also their deployment in relation to each other. I'll need a little while to find it and I'm off travelling in Asia this week and won't be back until Monday next.
If I forget, remind me!! 8)

I agree with Paul although I must say I've thought twice about doing 1690-92 games before in Scotland. You never know who is likely to say what!!

I think that is very possible. The definition of `buff' is open to interpretation anyway David. Maybe mix the shades of buff, sand, brown, grey etc. I think most of the Irish units would have been more poorly dressed. I might also suggest a higher proportion of Pikes per unit. Say a 3 stand unit bas...

Neue Kampagne Zeitung

I am delighted to say that Steve Ayers, wargamer and author of the extremely clever and witty Neue Kampagne Zeitung(SYW news sheet from his group's campaign) has given his permission for me to post the paper on this site. You can find it in Warchest/17TH-18TH Century Archive . I have all issues exce...

Eventually when work doesn't get in the way both Barry and my self are hopeing to finish the members sections.

Hope this help

Thank

The Scots/Dutch Brigade of the 1680-1700 period served in Flanders/some in the Sedgemoor Rebellion(but they did not engage), Ireland and Scotland. Accepted wisdom specifies Red coats. Mackay's reputedly red faced red. Ramsay's/Colyear's Red faced grey or white, Balfour's Red faced yellow. The others...

Andy, the `Horse Guards'(Now the Lifeguards of the Household Cavalry) were I believe in Red Coats probably faced Blue. Lord Grey's would I suspect not have been uniformed. They may well have contained some men with Militia coats and officers with foreign service regimentals but largely they would ha...

Hi Frank, here's what I did: 1.Treated my three to a base 28mm infantry(50mm diameter round basing -see gallery) as a FoW `Team'. I used seven of these to make a platoon for the Soviets and between 4 and 6 bases for the Germans. 2. Treated one vehicles as one vehicle(exactly the same) 3. Doubled ALL...
