Re: Basing infantry 2 x 2

As all of you have said, it is only a question of personal taste. I hope I don't taste like chicken! I have to correct my last post as I made it while in the throws of a migraine, but my infantry bases are 1.5" x 1" with 4 figures and I am going to base my pike stands at 2 figures per a base sized ...

Re: Basing infantry 2 x 2

I am basing mine at 4 figures in two ranks on a 2" square base. At three bases to the battalion, it takes up less table space and saves me money on figures (a necessity!).

My cavalry will also be based on the same sized base.

Re: Hail and Well met!...and visit me new blog

Hi Justin, A nice painted regiment, but the Front Rank standard bearer in the centre looks like a giant compared to the rest of the men. Do the plastic's not come with a standard bearer, if not you need to use a smaller figure manufacture i.e. 25mm and not 28mm. Your men also seem to be without gai...

They look quite nicely done :-)
Thank you. I credit the black primer with aiding the appearance. :)

Re: BLB Demo game, suggestions welcome

Sure, I will give it a go. What were the labels for; I cannot tell from the pics. Did you create brigade rosters for each player? Does BLB2 play as fast as BLB1? I was thinking of running BLB1 as a "fast-play" variant of BLB2, but will wait to decide until after I get a copy of BLB2. The mini-con is...

BLB Demo game, suggestions welcome

I have volunteered to run a few demonstration/participation games at a mini-con that my club is putting on in early November. One of the games will be BLB (Grand Armee is the the other) and I plant to run 2 two hour sessions. Any recommendations for a scenario that can handle 4 to 8 players? I am bu...

Re: CAN NOW BE PRE ORDERED

I just posted there for the first time since 2004 and it may be a few more years again, depending. I was plenty pleased by the .pdf version of BLB and a few of my local club (those working on WSS armies) are likely to pick them up too, partially based on my enthusiastic endorsement. Once I can affor...

Re: CAN NOW BE PRE ORDERED

There's already been a bunch of sarky comments to Ray's review of the rules and what annoys me most about these people is that they are happy to knock anything that anyone else produces but offer nothing themselves. I usually don't bother with TMP anymore. Most threads quickly devolve into flame wa...

Re: CAN NOW BE PRE ORDERED

I am sure there are many, like me, who are dying for more specific thoughts on the rules. Anyone else brave enough to have a go?

Re: Hail and Well met!...and visit me new blog

Ray, Thank you for kind comments, it has been nearly 7 years since I last put paint to a wargame model. To answer your question, I suppose it could very well be the 24th, but I believe the stockings and trousers would be the wrong color for that regiment. My intent was more to have the unit stand in...

A sample figure from the unit I just finished. I need to base the models, but am awaiting the bases atm.

Barry has already mentioned that he encourages reviews. And I demand them!

Ray, how about sharing your thoughts on specific new mechanics?
