Re: Osnabruck Leibgarde Regiment

In the book of Kuhn and Hall, as well as in that of CS Grant (The Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars Vol I) I found the exact references for the colors of their uniforms for the period 1701-1706. Unfortunately, however, in neither it is not provides guidance as to the type of cap of the Grena...

a flag for my Jung-Daun regiment

He, please, someone could help me: I'm looking for a picture of the battalion flag of the Austrian Imperial regiment Jung Daun at the time of the Battle of Turin (1706). I have the book-CD by August Kuhn, with the plates of Robert Hall, but unfortunately for this regiment there are not the images of...

Re: Osnabruck Leibgarde Regiment

He, Friends! Magnificent! Thank you! It also served me a beautiful picture of the flag of these regiment. In fact I had to paint the latest figures that I bought from Front Rank to represent it. The choice was determined by the wish to give a "touch of color" to my Austrian army, to change the pearl...

He was born in Rome:
it comes almost to think that's why he had lost their war!
Perhaps, if he had been born in Turin, instead, it may be had a chance.

Re: help for a flag dilemma about Artillery Commands

According to Hall, who cites Susane, the flag of the Royal Artillery was of the same design as those of the infantry, that is, a white cross with colored cantons. The cross was filled with fleurs de lys and the cantons were alternating red and green, like the Regiment du Roi. However, each canton c...

Thank you very much, you're very kind.

help for a flag dilemma about Artillery Commands

He, intending to givea flag to our artillery Commands, to identify them better, I started looking for one for the French. In the Rule of wargame Age of Reason, found in the net at the following link, you will see an image of a French battery with a flag that I have not found in other books (such as ...

Re: Jacobite?? Or not!

O dear me, I thought it was essentially the struggle of the Highlanders to get their independence, as at the time of Bravehearth.
From reading the four Osprey's books that I have, I had in fact done this idea.
I guess I'll have to study the English history of the period 1700.

Sergio, A Danish infantry regiment at the time consisted of 18 line companies and a grenadier company with the exception of the Garden til Fods which had 2 grenadier companies. The two regiments you mention, Prins Carl and Prins Georg provide 6 companies each to the auxiliary corps in Imperial serv...

I am a definite anti !
Instinctively, I am pro Highlanders.
So, if the Highlanders are pro Jacobite, I must be pro Jacobite too.

Re: Thunder on the Danube - 1704

1628 -1764 Danish Artillery carriages were painted red with yellow metal fittings. The King's cypher was also painted on the carriages in yellow. I am curious why you asked the question. No Danish artillery accompanied the two auxillary corps in Austrian (Imperial) and Maritime service during the W...

Re: Thunder on the Danube - 1704

Dear Sergio, I think you ARE picky, or you didn't NOTICE the second source I quoted, which relates to the later period, and also relates to the same pictures. So Dan Schorr has for certain quoted the Danes using the same colour in later years too. Nobody is perfect, and I'm always trying to help, b...
