Optional Artillery Rule

Hi gentlemen, After reading plenty of battle accounts, campaign histories and tactical books I had several ideas for optional rules for R2E. I ran this first one past Barry at Carronade on Saturday and he liked it. Normally after four turns of firing a battery has to pull out of the line to refit, b...

Very nice Bob, that's a good force you're building up for the Austrians. Any cavalry on the way?

Re: Ten years birthday

You're right Dave! It's amazing to think it's ten years now, it's flown past.

It's a great site and a haven for the gentleman gamers* in my opinion.
I'll take this opportunity to raise a virtual glass and say HERE'S TO TEN MORE!

*Feel free to interpret "gentleman gamers" however you like. :P

Peter Hofschroer

Has anyone heard what has happened to him? I googled his name and found a few articles which I can hardly believe.

I wont link any in case it causes a problem, but something really seems suspicious in it all.

Outstanding collection! You have more driver figures in your army than most people field for a complete force.

Re: Inspiration from Paintings... good or not ?

Nearly forgot about a couple of artists! http://www.grieves.se/marc/marc.html The other artist is Sean O'Brogain who has painted some absolutely outstanding stuff for this period, although all his work is brilliant. He illustrates Osprey books too. If I can find or think of any more I'll let you know.

Re: Inspiration from Paintings... good or not ?

I love this artist, I follow his updates and page on facebook. I also visit his website. I think he's great for inspiration, and as to a breastplate for the pikemen, yes they were used.

I wish Augusto would release a book of his works in the same fashion as Don Troiani or Keith Rocco.

Hi Darrell, facebook is funded entirely from paid advertising, you shouldn't need to be discussing anything to do with money unless you intend to advertise through them.

Re: New Franco Prussian Wars. Footsore Miniatures.

Well you get on painting them once they come out Paul, I've got one and half Corps of Prussians and a Corps of Bavarians, all in 25mm waiting to give them a beating  I have been remiss in keeping up with this thread. Monsieur O'Brien, them's fightin words! I shall be more than ready to defend ...

Lovely vignette, I do like early-mid 17th century figures. Don't worry about your photographs, I wish I was as bad as you!

Re: Sheffield Triples show - the battle of Almansa 1707

Great pictures and lots of very nice figures and terrain. Wish I could've seen it in person. Shame about the negative comments, I rarely find groups or clubs unwilling to chat if I ask questions at a show, indeed some are almost too enthusiastic. I fail to see why people make those types of posts, w...

Re: Battlefield Tour 2014

Hi Jim,

Thanks for posting this, I'd hoped to get a chance to ask you more about it at Carronade, but there were too many distractions!

Do you happen to have any photos you'd like to share? I'd love to see some if you do. :)
