The Duke of Plaza-Toro tries to get his mojo going again

Gentlemen Just wanted to let interested parties know that my World Crisis in Miniature Blog is active again. My apologies for the long silence (like it has only been 8 months... :-( ). The last year has been blighted by employment difficulties for both myself and my better half - and all the associa...

Very nice Jim. You've got the colour of the French khaki and the green helmets just right.

Re: Thank you from Barry

I'm sure I will be just one of many wishing you - Barry, Clarence, David and everyone in the LoA gang a very Merry Christmas, and above all a very big thank you for everything that you put into the hobby. Slightly disappointed Barry didn't thank The Betty Ford Clinic in his 'Oscar' speech... :D A pe...

Re: The cost of wargames figures

Good discussion. Price has hardly ever been a major factor in my figure buying over the years. And I say that as someone who throughout my working life in both the UK and here in Australia has never earned anything close to the average wage! Expensive figures might get ordered in smaller quantities ...

Re: Finally finished my latest French Revolution unit

Thank you very much gentlemen. Yes, I can quite understand why the cost of these great figures can be off-putting to you chaps overseas. I dropped into Eureka only yesterday afternoon to pick up some paint and Nic and I had a chat, both bewailing the continued strength of the Aussie Dollar and the d...

Finally finished my latest French Revolution unit

Took me a while (a few distractions) - but the 29th Régiment de Ligne c.1792-93 is now up on the 'World Crisis in Miniature' blog, together with a few words about how I paint white uniforms and hand paint my flags.

That's brilliant! Some very clever (if gory!) animation. Atmospheric photo's as well.

Well done valleyboy. :D

Re: Gewalthaufen Blog Updated: Jean Poton de Xaintrailles!

I wouldn't fret about it too much Darrell - it is still there, although much less so. Looks to me like you've got some errant coding producing a white text highlight block over white text. If I run my cursor over the text and highlight everything myself (in blue) I can see what's 'underneath'. Text ...

Re: Eureka Miniatures Arquebussiers de Grassin

Jim A quick exchange of emails with Nic tells me Eureka will be sounding out all the original subscribers (to confirm their interest / pre-orders) next month (October). If all is well regarding numbers sculpting will begin shortly afterwards - and Alan Marsh is quick. Nic hopes to have them ready be...

Re: Painting white

I like a fairly grubby look - Base coat = Vallejo German Camouflage Beige (821) Mid colour = Vallejo Game Colour "Bone White" (34) + a little white Then progressive amounts of white added to "Bone White" up to the desired finish. I rarely finish anything in pure white. (All on a white Humbrol enamel...
