Oudenaarde sounds like a great future project and far enough away that I might even manage to get a few units painted up in time ! What rules, what regiment / squadron sizes, what don't we have ? As for the games in 2008 we did agree that we have a big Napoleonic bash again and I think we settled on...

I enjoyed the show. I've left a post on TMP which I won't duplicate here but suffice to say that I thought the games were varied and it was good see some new traders. You were missed Barry. I had hoped to shift some of my surplus at the B&B but had a disappointing response. Kevin was much more succe...

Kevin and I ran a Napoleonic demo game at Claymore last weekend using his Calpe Prussians and my Front Rank and Foundry Russians. IMHO they looked great together. You can address the minor size differences easily with effective basing.

I was surprised at the re-release of 1644 especially as many of the concepts and the artwork form the first version (flags and uniform charts) appear in the Warhammer Ancient battles ECW book.

Barry, having bought a copy of the rules and carrying them with me, shame on me for not looking for the assault within 2inches/opportunity fire equivalent rules. Glad to see the rules do cater for this. Next time Angus ! I can't believe I didn't argue for that point !! A test of how successfu...

First time for me with FOW. The ...

I received my copy of WSS over the weekend. Well done Barry, it's a super article with lots hopefully to interest the readers as well as some great photos of our game. There are also some wonderful Dutch Belgian cavalry highlighted in the middle of the article. I don't know where they came from as t...

Peter , I've just checked ourt your website and was delighted to see that you too have succumbed to the joys of fielding some Russian Napoleonic troops. Great painting, photography and web design. I look forward to visiting often. It seems a bit slow to load but that may be more to do with software ...

Hi Peter , In our earlier games my noble Russian Army defended its honour well, containing the numerically superior French cavalry to little more than a trot and subjecting many a French infantryman and artilleryist to the point of our Cossack lances. Alas the Russian army lacked the depth of experi...

The Iron Brigade played a short Normandy beach game last night using Kevin's 20mm terrain, figures and umpiring skills. Andrew's got the FOW bug but Kev and I are still enjoying the Rapid Fire rules so no change in scale for us. This was a good run in for us for the June LOGW game, and my first Rapi...
