Re: ACW, Rules &

Try Longstreet. They give an excellent game. You can download Longstreet Lite and the cards for free from Sam Mustafa's website. Black Powder and glory Hallelujah are well worth it. Fire and Fury, both regimental and full brigade size give an excellent game. I think that i have tried every civil war...

Re: ACW Source recommendations for Regt infantry strengths?

Paul, do you have any particular regiments , battles or campaigns in mind.
To give you an idea of how in depth you can go ,North Carolina has just published a 19!! volume set on individual unit strength and history for the entire war . a snip at $960.

Re: BBC 'Versailles'

Never thought I would say this. Too many t*ts and bums . Certainly way too much cross dressing. Actually ok when they go outside of the court but there are some real crackers. Apparently Louis couldn't raise a couple of hundred men to guard the road to Versailles because EVERY soldier is at the fron...

Excellent game . We've been using To The Strongest for our big battles. Really excellent. Clear. Last games was Italian wars . 226 units on the table. Finished to a satisfactory conclusion in 4 and a half hours .

Re: One day game in Irvine mid- late March

I would like to add as the victorious allied commander that our battleplan worked flawlessly (that is what austrian history books read, google it !) . We did not expect a hastily constructed part of the Maginot line fronted by the Rhine and the Pripet marshes just before the Corsican dwarf appeared....

Re: Sad news about Hugh Wilson

Always a cheery guy. Did a great job selling Iain Holt's stuff and raising money for combat stress. Spoke to him at the battlefield show and he was his usual ebullient self . A sad loss
