Painting GNW Saxons

I decided to do a post about how I approach painting both figures and horses. I used some Saxons I was working on and hopefully its interesting to one or two on here.

Mark the Poles can happily fight alongside the Russians, although you might need a lot of them to fight off the Swedes.

I got mine from Ebay and they are Uniball Signo. What I should have done though is choose the fine tip as mine are a bit big.

Ah yes, I do intend more but may stop at two Brigades. Two Each of Pancerni and Winged Hussars three light Valaks/Cossacks/ Tatars and one of Daragoons eventually. Not sure I can stretch to 10,000 though....

Hi, not yet, to be honest I moved away from inks a few years ago apart from the brown mentioned, I often use it now to disguise where I have not got hair quite right on a figure when dry brushing or in particular for the cow hide knapsacks some armies carry. I always used to use artists inks with a peat brown ink shade in to deaden the colours, recently been using the army painter soft tone for shading faces, hair leather etc and it is very good indeed.
