Re: Walled Farmhouse

It's coming along nicely Joe. I shall await developments with interest. Here's what mine looks like ... http://web.mac.com/nataliendpeter/Site/25mm_European_village.html BTW ... and not wanting to be nit-picky ... but I think that this is the Hudson & Allen European Village ... http://www.wargamesce...

Re: Prussian Fuisiliers as skirmishers

I'm not sure that I'm convinced of the science behind this  ... but if I were to play it in 1813/14 I would expect many of the French Légère to play under the same conditions! I guess I have been sensitised for too long over the tyranny of army lists and generic assignment of abilities b...

Re: Prussian Fuisiliers as skirmishers

Hello Burkhard I'm not sure if you are talking 1806 or 1813+ ... though I suspect the latter and this is the period I will talk/type to. FYI, IMHO & FWIW(!!!) I don't see why the Füsilier battalions should not be able deploy the whole unit as skirmishers like the Légère ... but then I would think th...

Re: Compatible campaign systems for R2E

I've read Theatre of War, albeit a while ago, but not played it. I don't see that it is compulsory to use Piquet to resolve the battles. You just need to come up with a mechanism to translate the campaign forces into table top forces for your favoured wargaming rules.

Re: French Carabiner Brigade command

Scruff, it depends. If you look at the Osprey Napoleon's Commanders (2) , Plate H2 shows General Louis Chouard (commanding a brigade made up of 4 squadrons of the 2nd Carabiniers for the 1812 campaign) in a coat the same color as the regulation general de brigade but cut like the habit of the Carab...

Re: Prussian Horse Artillery Team - 28mm

Most excellent ... and topical. I pulled out a Calpe 6lb Foot battery limber over the weekend and loaded it up with a couple of limber riders and the marching gunners set. Sadly all siver looking unlike this master class! :D
