Partizan

Barry, it was great to meet you at Partizan and to have a chance to see what to my mind was one of the best games there. Two questions. Firstly you explianed that you had re-based your WW2 infantry on the large flames of war bases. is there any particular reason you could not have used the same rule...

GNW Follow-up

A note from the designer copied from the Musketeer Miniatures Yahoo site. (I have no connection with them but I have purchased a few sample figures from their Caliphates range, which are very good indeed). "First up will be the infantry for both Russian and Swedish armies, so people can at least mak...

Forthcoming GNW range

Musketeer Miniatures who do some very nice Arabs for the early Crusades tell me that they are planning a GNW range in 28mm. The owner/designer seems very approachable - their yahoo group solicited lots of opinions about the scope of the Arab Caliphates range, positions of figures; troop types etc. I...

Barry, I take your point. I am clearly starting afresh. Front rank now do some head variants and with careful selection of poses I think sufficient dynamism and variety can be created within a based unit. What is remarkable is that a one-man-band is willing to invest so much time in this period. The...

Forthcoming Front Rank reinforcements

Curassiers are on their way in two flavours - with hat or pot helmet. There will be Austrian officers and a special Austrian/Imperial grenadier. Then "generic" cavalry and artillery crews (with additional poses) are promised - generic meaning in a less formal tricorne. I speak only as a satisfied cu...

Happy New Year to all.
Any idea Barry how you will be basing your figures for the forthcoming adventures in the Back of Beyond ?

Scots In Dutch Service

Does anyone have any uniform and flag details for the Scots Brigade in Dutch service?
Many thanks.

Dutch Grenadiers

While the converged grenadiers look very nice I'm not crazy about the look of 12 figure units.

is there any historical evidence for Dutch Grenadiers deploying with their parent battalions during the WSS?

Front Rank Going Dutch

Check out their web-site. The Dutch infantry are very nice and other ranks have some four head variants per position, including some more "informal" tricornes. Would do well for other countries too and additional grenadiers are promised. After some conversations about poses and head variants he has ...

Turning the clock back.....

Having just seen the long-awaited Poles by TAG on the Frothers unite forum I was wondering what might be needed to push the ULB rules back a decade or two? What are your thoughts Barry? The TAG range includes some very "Thirty years war" looking figures as well as some of the more exotic Polish type...

Napoleonics Follow-Up

Barry,
I for one look forward to seeing your Napoleonic rules.

I have a small number of pro-painted units of Calpe Prussians by a very talented young painter. If illustrations could be of any help, contact me off the list. I am not sure if it is possible to post pictures here.

Napoleonics

Barry - that's a fantastic unitof Russian lancers. If you are starting again with Napoleonics could you give us some hints as to your new approach to the period? I strongly recommend the Calpe miniatures - more than enough Prussians to make start and the French due later this year. On an unrelated p...

No rush, looking forward to the pictures, but when can we see a version of the Napoleonic rules? All the best.

Not quite the answer I wanted......
But I appreciate the reasoning. I'm sure once I have massed sufficient troops for a reasonable-size game it will all become clear. Thanks for the comprehensive reply.
