Re: Dutch white?

I imagine it's like most of these kind of questions... The cloth varied, campaigning is hard on uniforms, we probably don't really know, etc. I tend to avoid white unless I'm painting a parade unit so even my whites end up as greys and my greys are probably darker as well. I can't keep a white shirt...

Re: Troop Quality of Jacobite Infantry

Welcome to the boards! The beauty of this is that you can alter unit ratings from game to game as well. Some units preformed differently in different battles so there is no need to worry about a definitive answer. For instance the Blue Guard may rate as elite at the Boyne considering they crossed th...

Dark Age Saxons

I recently started a new project... Like I don't have enough to do... https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dLOBMLVP3rQ/V56yfGWJVcI/AAAAAAAAHYo/3M94g8Dd-nA6NJNacdQ-kEYalfKtKZeYQCLcB/s1600/Saxon%2BHuscarls%2B01.jpg I'm going to use Donnybrook for some Dark Age skirmishing. There's more on my blog and pro...

Re: Scenerio book

Hi, Douglas, It was good to meet you at Historicon. Barry and I are currently working on three or four things at once... I hate guessing as he and I both have stupid busy schedules that get in the way of our publishing, but hopefully the first of the scenario books for BLB/Donnybrook will be availab...

Re: Withdraw move/orders

That seems good, Alan, though I don't think I'd allow backward movement in a march column. There probably won't be any columns in the face of the enemy anyway so it is probably a moot point! For game purposes, you may simply want to allow a half move for all units, because a quarter move, one inch, ...

Re: Characters and melee

The character can pick his target It may stop lone characters from charging a group of four as even three Recruits can probably overwhelm a Hero on the next go. Just realized that made no sense (got a phone call in the middle of adding a thought). The character can pick his target SO he can charge ...

Re: Characters and melee

It should be a tie the way I play. Forcing the character to take a save still counts as a wound, even though he shrugs it off. Otherwise it makes the characters a little tougher than intended. The character can pick his target It may stop lone characters from charging a group of four as even three R...

Re: So how do you design an army

Ha! You have me beat - You should be giving me advice! First of all if you refight historical battles, then you already accept that armies are rarely even and you are ahead of many who mainly think in terms of points. I often simply throw units on the table until it looks like I'm running out of spa...

Re: BLB2 printing question

What? Is it 2016 already? In my defense, I am really, really tired. My last three weeks of work were 60 hours, 74 hours, and 68 hours. Today I lacked 30 minutes from a 16-hour work day and I'm on pace for 70 again. I think they are trying to kill me... I still have stuff to do for Historicon! Stupid...
