Re: Battle of Poltava

Don't have any Russians or Swedes ,but this is the sort of film that sows the seed for starting a whole new army/ies . Inspiring stuff. The long shot of the Swedish army is really getting the old grey cell thinking :?

Re: Middle Guard at Waterloo

Well thats good news,I'm trying to put together the Guard units that made the final attack at Waterloo, and thanks to the Victrix head swap ability, i think i can go with a few bearskin-less heads and the odd bonnet de police to make the "Middle guard" look a little less uniform. Still have to find ...

Re: Middle Guard at Waterloo

Thanks Greystreak,So does that mean that the so called "Middle Guard" would have dressed as the Old Guard or worn a mix of old and new regime :?:

Middle Guard at Waterloo

I'm looking for any info on Middle Guard uniforms at Waterloo, Some acounts say that they had a real mix and rarely match uniform, due to the haste they were assembled. And although not the most reliable of sources i've seen a couple of paintings of the Middle Guard looking more like the Old Guard! ...

Re: Victrix Russians Cuirassiers as Austrian ?

Thanks Greystreak, I'm not that brave!
I think i'll invest in Front Ranks Cav , they're about the right size.
Anyway, i'm not allowed any sharp things,so conversions are out. :(

Victrix Russians Cuirassiers as Austrian ?

I've noticed the Russian Cuirassiers from Victrix are quite close in uniform to Austrian Cuirassiers, are there any really obivious differences or would a paint job do it?
Any Help please :?:

Re: Victrix Austrians

Yep they look good to me,apparently less choice in pose though! I like the look of them but might have to invest in a shed load of white paint :?
The thought of painting hundreds of Austrians in white uniforms with white straps may lead to snow blindness

Re: Tumbleweed blows through Kelham

All valid points Gents, However i thought of attending and then thought of how much it would cost in petrol to get there!
Money i could spend on paint/figures etc.
Can't justify spending £80 on petrol,£10 on dodgy food and £20 on guilt present for the wife! :(

If you want to make wargames shows more attractive to ladies, Then either twin the wargames show with a spa weekend and skip the wargames bit. OR go to the first day of the sales when clothes shopping, the wife asures me its like a battle ground in there! I think its a big leap from painting nails t...

Dear Yar68, All very good reasons for attending shows. :D However with tongue firmly in cheek , may i suggest a few rather negative views from past experience. 1. The wonderful smell of other punters and their charming social skills. 2. The long drawn out affair of painting comps and the growing dep...
