Re: Russian Headgear

All my russian infantry are in helmets, but the Jagers are in caps, this is just so i know which is which.
Still, like Phil said a mix would add variety.1st company might wear caps,2nd helmets, etc. I dont think anyone would argue that they never wore both in the same unit.

Old art students meanderings

Just out of intrest, does anyone paint (on canvas rather than on walls) as well as paint figures :?: . For my sins, i was an art student  and have found the cross over from canvas to figures rather helpful colour wise. I still do the odd portrait , but i mostly do reproductions of old masters (...

Re: Swedish Sashes

Arthur, I'm afraid they've gone to someones collection now! However, reading your post, yellow and blue hatbands does sound a little odd!I think i got carried away with the overall look of the units . My only excuse being that it made the Swedes stand out amongst their German allies. Still, my ...

Re: New Marlburian range from Foundry

Heres a thought...maybe they are fantasy Malbarians! I once saw a box of figures at a bring and buy que in York; the owner described them as fantasy napoleonics. Strange elf like French and Ogre like Brits. so i suppose its possible. :)

Re: New Marlburian range from Foundry

I cant help feeling a little sorry for foundry, admittedly i cant see why there so expensive, but if i was starting the period all over again and they were only 50p each,i'd buy 'em ( i can live with the muskets and lack of sock ties for that price) :P

Re: Basing 28mm Brigade Commanders

Kippax,me old fruit, you'll know better than most that Brigadiers tend to have a number of "Flunkies " round and about! That said i tend to go for round 50mm bases and try and make them in to vignettes.
Sorry no examples as my cameras crap.

Re: So what makes you paint your armies

Well i need a spark!..........If i like the period i've seen figures for, read a book and wanted to capture the battles on the table top or really like the latest new sculpts from some companies;then i've got to paint them .Hard to explain but i have a strong driving force to see them finished (even ...
