Chaps, I don't think Russians have ever been accused of being precious. Many other things, but not that! Actually the two solutions are to turn four battalions into three (with the same total number of figures), or to simply rebase some of 8-figures stands as 4s, which will let the units break neatl...

Barry,

Fair enough - non-historic and built round Peter's collection sort of explains it! Dave O'B. and I will simply rebuild our Russian armies accordingly. In fact, we might as well go the whole non-historic hog and field armies of opolochnie!

Barry, old bean, Thanks for taking the time and effort to produce those "Army Lists". I was sort of wondering though, if you might feel the need to build in a little more flexibility into 'em, so the organisations aren't so rigid. For instance, many of us Russian players will probably have our troop...

Well, worrying about fantasy legions won't stop this lot. As we speak Dale will be dusting off exclusively Old Guard army, and choosing which Marshal to lead which brigade! Besides, I rather like the image of the ogre Bonaparte on home turf, being skewered by a toothless pike-armed peasant! My dark ...

I refuse to be called "blasphemer" by someone who flies a "paddy for hire" flag. What's next - a visit from the bloody Spanish Inquisition?!

Chaps, I'm afraid I won't make the March game in Stonehaven, unless I can find a way of wriggling out of attending a family wedding. However, my Russian army is slowly stirring from its winter quarters, and will take the field against the Kirrie Ogre in midsummer. I'm sure you lot will manage to kee...

Sharny, Yes, indeed they are, apart of course from the year! If you already have one, then fill it out and you'll speed things up on the day. For some reason the clunky SESWC website doesn't have ones you can print out, but I'll ask them to make them available over the next few days. Are you selling...

Claymore 2009 - 1st August

Gentlemen, I'd just like to mention that Claymore 2009 is just a couple of weeks away. The show takes place on Saturday 1st August (10am-4pm), and this year it'll be held in Telford College, Edinburgh. That's EH5 1QE for those of you with car 'puter thingies, or who have figured out how to use Multi...

Gentlemen, For the sake of sanity we've really got to close the call for players, as with 15 gamers we've got all the commanders we can cope with. Bill Gilchrist can no longer make it, but at least his lead can, and we plan to re-distribute the forces accordingly. Charles and I plan to compose the f...

Please give me measurements in inches of what you have

You might want to rephrase that...

Gentlemen, The Malplaquet game is fast approaching, and I hope you're all scrambling to paint more units - particularly your own command figures! Just to recap, the current line-up looks like this; The French Charles, Dale, Dave O'B, Barry, Kevin, Colin and Chris (guest). The Allies Adrian, Peter, A...

Roger, All the uniform information you want (and more) can be found in handy-dandy little books on The Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars , written by our very own Charles S. Grant, and sold by Partizan Press/Caliver Books. They also sell useful little booklets on the Dutch and British Armies...

Peter,

I have some stuff about your (Wal)loons (at least in Dutch service), and will dig them out and send you an off-site e-mail. there's even a flag...

Of course, the loons also fought for the Spanish and the French - anyone who'd pay them. they were afa popular loons, ye ken...

Dan,

It does indeed - very useful. I'll dig out Quincy from the National Library, and the link to the Allied line-up is fantastic - a real find!

Best,

Angus
