I think I've mislead you a little. What I meant was I have information on the period between 1680 and 1700 which is spread out across numerous books including information I've picked up from you Dan. I will check through my resource material anyway and see what I can come up with. I know I do have t...

I can see what you mean by a niche market only because it isn't one of the run of the mill big sellers such as Napoleonic or ACW but I must say at Reiver Castings we've done alright by that niche which covers 1679-1721. I think there is room for Mark's 1660-80 range but the only thing which is lacki...

Andy, I hope this helps a little. I'm still collating more on the uniforms myself as well as flags. All wore red coats with the following facings; Infantry Forfar's - Buff facings, waistcoat & breeches, white hat lace and gaitors. Drummers reverse colours with red waistcoat and breeches and white la...

On a more serious note, would you want the summer version in shorts with socks, sandals and knotted hankie?

Aw, come on lads, I'm not that bad am I? I was thinking of a range of Louis XIV Chefs and kitchen staff as I believe they wore green coats with white facings. The dishwashers and bottle scrubbers wore reversed colours. As for the Oxford Dons, would you want them in greatcoats or robes? ...

Hi Oathman, Someone just sent me that flag link yesterday. It's quite good. The Government Battalions had 2 colours and you wouldn't be wrong in using the flags the same units would have had during Marlborough's wars. I would model the English Militia on the same style as the Scottish Militia but wi...

Barry and Oathman, I may be able to help with the Swedish plot. Charles XII was annoyed at the handing over of the Duchies of Bremen and Verden to Denmark by Hanover in 1715. They had been taken from Sweden in 1712 and Charles wanted them back. The Jacobites had made a representation to the Swedes i...

Barry,
I see what you mean about the figures but when Oathman mentioned Jacobites I took it as 18th Century rather than the 1680's.

We'll see what he comes back with for period and we may be able to help further.

Hi Oathman, Your figures are excellent. I take it you are only painting figures for the '45 and not the '15 or '19. There is more information for the '45 but not so much for the '15 which was a larger conflict and included English Jacobite troops as well as the various Scots. I noted your comment ab...

Stuart, I've done quite a lot of research into the "Killin' Times" and our club toured a version of Bothwell Bridge around the North of England and Scotland wargames shows. The Reiver flags are all taken from those used in the period by the Covenanters as well as the Early Scots Guards flags in the ...
