Some other share updates on upcoming events or exibitions of some kind. A handfull here are traders who take a sneek peek at what we are thinking

I'm actually a welshman, from the valleys, Llynfi valley to be precise, moved to NZ 11 years ago, and no it wasn't because I have fondness for sheep

I promise I haven't googled Gunter but my guesses are:

Austrians - Shit -shovellers?
Bavarians - Flatland Austrians (ie substandard Austrians?)

The worst insult a Norwegian can call you is a 'Swede' - I have had many laughs with that in my job and working for a Swedish company.

Norwegians and Danes don't really like Swedes much. Norwegians and Swedes think Danes are rather rough, loud and big headed..

You should lecture about the historical background why Swedes are so "loved" by the Norwegians and Danes

Stomping is such a harsh word, as I understand "liberating" is the term we should use nowadays.

But that's all in the past, we're all friends now. And I'll much rather be called a "norwegian" than a "nollåtta" (slang for someone from Stockholm)

The slang term for people just down the road from me is "Pie eaters" or Wiganers if you prefer. However ,whilst they have a pie eating contest every year and are famously proud of these pies, i was surprised to find the nickname was given to them by other northern mining towns who during a miners strike eons ago saw the Wiganers return to work first. And thus the Wiganers ate "Humble Pie"
As with most things , theres usually a dark undercurrent!

as for international nicknames , i often heard the Croats call the Serbs "Chitneks" ................i'm guessing its not nice...anyone know what it means?

As the Croats say Chetnik to the Serbs, the Serbs say the Croats are all Ustascha, colaborating, pro Nazi people.
