Hi all,

I was wondering where I could find a OOB for the Battle of Naseby 1645.
The only book I have on this battle is a old Osprey Wargames Series 1 entitled "The Campaign of Naseby 1645" by Stuart Asquith & Peter Gilder.
This gives general numbers of troops involved, but not down to regiment size.
Clarance I've seen your figures on your website and very nice they are too, but might I ask what make they are??? I see "Warlord" do both the Foot and Horse in hard plastic 28mm boxes, but as yet I haven't seen any painted.Foot are 40 miniatures to a box for £18 and Horse are 12 miniatures to a box again at £18.
If anyone knows of any good uniform and flag books for the New Model army which was formed in 1645 I'd be grateful.

Cheers........Ray.

Hi Ray,
Sorry to say but not one book I posess is about the ECW. TYW yes, danish and, what else as new, Saxony...the protestants.
I made a quick search through the Worldwide Web and stumbled over the following:
http://www.naseby.com/pdf/streeters_bat ... naseby.pdf

A nice map from a good website I think and under that link an OOB of some sort

http://www.naseby.com/thebattle/thearmies/index.html

Flags I found discriptions b/w

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=uGBG ... q=&f=false

Army and flags here

https://www.baccus6mm.com/includes/howt ... xt.inc.php

Of course you will have searched yourself

Sorry again

Günter

My ECW armies are a mix of Renegade and Bicorne. The Warlord models look nice, though and had the plastics been out when I started collecting ECW, I might have opted for them. I like plastic models and you get many more units for the money!

I'll see if I have an orbat for Naseby, but Ney's links look good...

Hi Gunter & Clarance,

Thank you for the information, Gunter the map and dispotionsion's of armies are the same as whats in my forementioned book, but yours has a lot more terrain detail.
I had found the link with the regiments, but unfortunatly it does not mention numbers per regiment.
Clarance what rules do you game with 1644 or Warhammer ECW or maybe some other set???

Kind Regards.......Ray.

Actually, Ray, I use my own set of rules for ECW called Victory Without Quarter. They are free and you can read about them briefly here...

http://www.quindia.com/studioart12.htm

I have 1644 and Warhammer ECW and of those two games I prefer 1644.

Wow Clarance,

These look good, and couldn't this be a project for yourself and Barry to work on futher with the inclusion of the TYW.
I like the title too "Victory without Quarter", but I not sure if I've heard of this title before for another set of rules or as you say, I may have read about Waller's account of Cropredy Bridge.
I will keep a eye out for a copy of 1644 on ebay or some bring & buy at a wargames show.

Cheers..........Ray.

They have been brought up on occasion on this forum and TMP. They have also been used at several cons and 'mentioned in dispatches' in Battlegames once or twice so maybe you've heard of THE Victory Without Quarter!

Did you send a request for them, because if you did, I didn't get it... or you can PM your personal e-mail and I will send you a copy...
