OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

A moth eaten rag on a worm eaten pole
It does not look likely to stir a man's soul
'Tis the deeds that were done 'neath the moth eaten rag
When the pole was a staff and the rag was a flag.

A fine start, sir!
But an entire
corps of Austrians at 1:20?
You must
really like painting with the 'dip' method!

Nice Austrians
Bryce,
whats a 'few' Austrians in a Corps against the complete Saxon Army
in 1:20 that will be 1500+ Figures

The corps is only 19 Battalions (only) and a couple of units of cavalry. I am gluing the next 2 battalions of infantry together as i type, well waiting for them to dry obviously, never tried gluing and typing at the same time, i appear to be a couple of limbs short for it.
The dip, well yep it works well paint white and colours on there then brush on the dip and courtesy of PaulMc a little highlight and then base them. Hope the bases will be getting done on wednesday so may post finished pictures then.
Thank you for the nice comments and encouragement, hope to get these on the table at one of Barry's little games this year.

Looking really nice Ian, good on you and Paul!
Have just been speaking to David Imrie about a potential date for a weekender in Fife. Could be Napoleonic then!
cheers

Looking forward to seeing them in anger on the tabletop, hope they don't have the "curse of new troops" and run away as it seems to be with most new units at Barry's events.

This may be a Barry specific curse as it seldom happens to me & most other wargamers I know cry of the cursed dice & the cursed card and I am familiar with those but even my new troops seem to know how to stand and fight

Considering I personally have a giant army of napoleonic based figures planned for well over 2000 28mm figures?
