Here come the Cavalry.

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Very nice they are Ray. Won't be starting on my cavalry for a while but they are inspiration.

Yes, once you're done, you need to paint their opponents!

Clearly, they have to charge something, capture their standard, and then fly it as their own . . .

I would be inclined to look at the flag in the flesh digital photography can do odd stuff to colours especially if its a bluish green as can printing so it might be better to retouch the flag by hand & it doesn't look like too difficult a job given the fairly straight forward design.

Hi Ray. I have some of the maverick flags and have re touched them without too much bother. It will be the easiest way to match them to your facing colours. Just get paul to slap some paint on.

Superb work!

Is the finial drilled out to accept the pole? That's quite nice work!

I MUST arrange to be nominated as successor to your commands :-)

That flag looks perfect now Ray! Paul really is a talented bugger, lovely shading on it.

Hi Ray,

Just noticed that all your trumpeters are riding grey horses. Is this a factual thing for the period or just something pleasing to the eye ?
