Warlord Games Romans

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Warlord Games Romans

Post by Coyote » Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:38 pm

Just wanted to post up some Warlord Games Romans. I'd subscribed to this forum but never got activated for so long that I'm just rediscovering it now. On my workbench, after a Necromunda figure I was painting while I waited for my order to arrive, is some Artizan and Crusader WWII Brits to be painted as Canadians.

I'm just starting with multibasing and really would love to make the dynamic units the League is known for.

Not likely. After my WWII project is done, should be quick as I just need a platoon for Troops, Weapons and Tactics, I'm going to buy some Perry and Victrix British Napoleonics for my war of 1812 project.

Also thinking of rebasing the napoleonics I have. I'd tried magnetic sabot bases, but am going to try LoA style instead. This is a project I'm unlikely to ever play and finish so having the units look good is important.

I only bought those romans because Warlord Games and Wargames Factory were both coming out with them, Wargames Factory was going to send me a free box to review on my blog and I decided that Battlegames might appreciate a side-by-side comparison review and paint-up.

Wargames Factory suffered delays, their miniatures never arrived so I painted 16 of the Warlord Games romans and wrote it up as a straight painting article which Henry Hyde is sitting on. Time passes and I decided to paint the rest of the box because I refuse to let my unpainted backlog grow.
