Swedish Gun

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Swedish Gun

Post by Gunfreak » Fri Apr 22, 2016 4:31 pm

Well this is a mix match. I orderd some 1st corps swedish infantry. But I did remember seeing some 1st corps artillerists laying around while I was looking for other stuff.
I found them, I also had a empress miniature saker that I found, after some panic(one of the wheels was lost but then found under the computer) I also had some stuff I got for free from warfare miniatures, gabions, a small mortar, a table ect.

So I started work, creating a gun deck with some balsa wood.

And here is the resault.

very nice and a great idea to photograph it near the water, I'm going to try that!

Only temporary. I'll hopefully finish my 1st corps swedes when they arrive.
Then back to GNW or SYW.
I do hope to have reached my half way goal for my swedes by mid June! And then on to Saxon/Russian

so it is! I wondered about the edge at the back. I thought it was a pond!
Maybe I wanted to see water behind it! Still, it looks good. Still might try a shot with water behind

Call it jet lag... or Dave would say I am just dense

There are advantages to being dense.

1. Better heat retention
2. Less chance of flying away during storms
3. Might shield other fron ionizing radiation
4. If on a ship with out food, water or hope easier to drown in the deep(no need to bring emergency cannon ball.
5. When dead can be used in building fortifications (like gabisons)
