What were the labels for; I cannot tell from the pics.
They are unit markers we created, each lists the Unit Name, Morale Grade, for foot Rank or Platoon and for horse Bullet or Blade. If these terms are unfamiliar you will find explanation in the rules.
Did you create brigade rosters for each player?
We had a list of forces for each side with the unit flag to help identify the unit on the table. The casualty sheets also had the unit flag to help identify each on the table. This combined with the unit markers the players still had issue finding units on the table. We let the overall commander for each side divide the brigades between his players.
Does BLB2 play as fast as BLB1?
Comparable, however there is more detail in BLB2. It's really a matter of how many units and rules familiarity. Others may say different. I personally say BLB2 is BLB1 finished. No offense to Barry.
