A new question..

Post by Montecuccoli » Sun Nov 09, 2008 4:14 pm

After our second playtest
(for some images http://lagrandeguerradelnord.blogspot.com/)
we have one more question about a fire and melee modifiers.
Fire: "If losses equal to/greater than 50% of a stand -2"
Melee: " 50% or more casualties on one stand -1"

Probably because English is not our language, we haven't understood clearly this.

Do this mean that a standard infantry unit (18 figg on 3 stands) that received 3 casualties (because 3 is 50% of a stand) have a -2 on firing and a -1 on melee. ( 6 casualties = -4 and -2)?

When they receive 9 casualties they lose a base. Do they have a -6 and -3? Or do they start again to calculate casualties for base? ( I mean, 2 bases with further 3 casualties = -2 and -1 and so on...).

If this is correct, it seems that units lose very soon their firing efficence...

Thank you...

Hi

If a unit with 3 stands loses 3 figures it will still fire with 3 stands but because a full base is six figures it will fire with a -2 as 3 is 50% of 6. When a unit has lost 6 figures it will only shoot with 2 stands even though it still has 3 stands in the unit as 6 figures make up a stand. A base is only taken off when a unit has lost 50% of it`s figures (9 in most cases). Instead of bases think in multiples of six figures. Hope this helps.

Hi

I could have explained it a bit better. The -2 for firing and the -1 for melee aren`t cumulative. They only apply to a base that has lost half it`s figures when six figures have been lost. The -2 or -1 disappears as the base in theory doesn`t exist anymore so to get the -2 or -1 another 3 casualties are needed from the next base.
