So since WSS armies were deplyoed in sevral lines, it means you can basicly have two or even 3 lines of infantry in close suport of eachother?

I would suggest that Napoleonic battles are more compact with Division after Division behind each other. Most Napoleonic wargames you see generally don't have enough depth to protray the actual look of Napoleonic warfare but that is mostly due to gaming restrictions. When we did our Borodino refights we had a 12 foot deep table and even then most of the reinforcements and French Grand Battery were still off table.

If you string all your troops out in one line then you are asking for trouble should your opponent break through at one point which is why most generals always had a reserve no matter what the period.
