BLB1 Infantry Melee

Hello All,
I've looked through the forum but could not find a post that covers this off.
Do infantry versus infantry cause casualties in a melee,or just test for morale on losing and being pushed back?
If they do receive casualties how are these calculated for both opponents?

Nick the melee mechanisms are fundamentally different between BLB1 and BLB2. It is one of the main differences.
