BLB3 - Cards?

Post by Emir of Askaristan » Wed Mar 14, 2018 1:18 pm

I see in the Play Sequence that there is a step "Deal/Swap BLB Cards...."

I've jumped from BLB1 to the new edition and so I presume the cards are the events which have been removed from the text and will be available elsewhere to download or purchase?

So what's the story and when will they be available ?

Cheers,

Stu

Over the years we have developed several decks of event cards which we use in our weekender games. We are currently debating whether to issue these as 'playing card' decks or downloads. More news soon. They always go down very well in the games and create lots of fun.

Will cards be essential to getting the most out of the game or are they optional?

The are optional... they take the place of the Events charts from earlier editions...

yup purely optional. We like them because the create so much chaos. I have noticed a trend with players...

When the cards are running their way, they love them. When the cards get them in trouble comments along the lines of..

"Actually I prefer the game without the cards' come to the surface. Interestingly, most advocates.critics never actually realise when they make the personal transition

I'd like to see them produced that way you have the option of using them or not. I like em as they add that extra flavour for pick up games and random chaos in scenarios!

At the moment I'll have to delve into the old rules, which is a bit of a scutter. So looking forward to seeing what you come up with :D

The tracking number says I will have the rules on Saturday. Can't wait. I guess that's what I get for playing a pre-release game. LOL I've read about the card deck of events in a couple posts, and am very intrigued. I really love the events from 2nd Ed and Donnybrook, and think they add that extra bit of flavor to the game. I really like the idea tho of being able to use them on your opponents. So I'm excited for this release either way you guys do it. Just make it soon. LOL

Really love the idea of random events, even if I'm on the receiving end of a particular misfortune. Would prefer playing cards, but more than happy with whatever you guys produce.

I think the cards are done.. they just require yours truly to turn them into works of art...

I'd prefer to buy the event cards as a playing deck rather than a download...time poor, I'm afraid. Cheers, Rohan.

So did the cards ever make it as a download or a deck? I just picked up BLB ver.3 and wouldn't mind having the cards. Thanks! Or at east maybe a PDF copy of the original random events.
