Artillery base sizes

Post by msk » Wed Feb 24, 2010 8:00 pm

Barry, I was looking at the French battery in the Gallery and I was wondering if you couold provide the dimensions of the various bases you used to create the full battery and park behind. It looks to my untrained eywe that you've employed at least three different sizes.

Thanks!
Martin

Sharp eyes indeed Martin

the guns are on 80 x 60 x 3mm ply
The infantry handlers/supernumaries are on 60 x 60 x 3mm ply
The limbers/caissons etc are I think on 60 x 120mm (may be 100 but almost sure not).. currently not at home so can verify we I get back.
The final bases have never been photographed.. the limbers and horse teams themselves. These are coming.

Of course this excess is not necessary and the are could be marked off (the R2E counters are designed to do this but of course anything could be used). I really do belieive this is an important feature in the table top battlefield even if there is limited space available.

Hope this helps
