RTE questions from a thicko

Post by valleyboy » Mon Apr 12, 2010 7:54 am

Call me thick if you like

Oi you I heared that.....

I'm having a bit of trouble with combat groups
I understand that an infantry combat group is 4 figs in 2 ranks and that for melee purposes a gun is a combat group - but what about cavalry? Can't work out how many dice they would throw in a melee :?:
pray clever persons do tell

(actually 2 of us are thick, my mate Ants can't tell either - but he must be thicker than me because he can't get even seem to get on the forum -(@ Barry -application by Captain Chook) - probably just a ruse to get me to ask all the dumb questions

I think I might be asking more dumb questions soon

First of all.... Captain Chook is now a member of the community

ALL combat groups are 4 models. Cavalry and infantry and shooting. Just to make the mechanism simple.

Now, that was easy...

next!

Yay, I'm a member. I was starting to think my reputation had preceeded me!

Actually, my quetion is cavalry vs infantry in square.
If the cavalry are in line, do they get the +100% dice (line) and then reduce dice by 75% (attacking square).
Therefore, a regiment of 6 combat groups will get 6 x 2 x 0.75 = 3 dice.

By the way, thanks for the message on the inside cover, Barry. I only throw my dice occasionally, and never at people (well, maybe once).

Oh, by the way, I haven't found the rules as daunting as some reviewers make out. Well done on a well presented and nicely written set of rules.

I had a little help with the content of the dedication

Your arithmetic is perfect..

unless the cavalry were

Veteran/Guard
Lancers
Cuirassiers

when additional dice come into play.
