RTE in NZ - calling all NZ gamers

Post by valleyboy » Tue May 04, 2010 8:38 am

Gentlemen a preliminary enquiry

Captian Chook and myself appear to have managed to secure a table for both days of the NICON convention to be held in Tauranga on the 5th and 6th of June
http://www.ableelectricians.co.nz/nicon10.htm

We are keen to put on a 2 day RTE game if at all possible. At the time of writing we are attempting to negotiate a large table and intend to put on a 15mm Peninsula game. We are able to provide all the necessary figures, terrain etc

We are keen to hear if this is of interest to any other NZ gamers that post here. In essence what we'd like to do is to set up a multiplayer game for as many of us that would like to take part and hope that some of you might be tempted to come along - in short would you like to take part?

Our only caveat is that neither of us would claim to be proficient RTE players but hell we all have to start somewhere and this seems a good opportunity to meet up and give it a go

We are happy to provide everything, all you'll need is a measuring tape, your copy of the rules and a willing spirit.

Please let me know if this opportunity is of any interest. I know its only a short time away and that my details are a little sketchy at present - the extent of what we put on or size of the game depends on the level of interest from others here. I'd be grateful for your thoughts

Guys.. love the idea!

If there is anything we can do to support it from the UK /US we'll try!...

How you may say??

Well, happpy to set up a forum subsection, happy to provide rules clarifications, scenario info, Q&A etc etc beforehand..

If you get your heads together and there is anything we can do to publicize it on the site I am happy to do that..

Run a news item(you could write it and I'll post in up in news)
Even put something on the landing page of the site...

cheers :D

I'll be in thinking/scheming mode ... possibly for a few days.

As a bonus it would sure be nice to meet Valleyboy in the flesh after bumping into each other in so many forums.

Oh, and I could kick in a couple of bucks for that bus fare! 8)

It will never work, that damn volcano would start up again.
Still, as far as a whip around goes, at the rate the Euro and Pound are falling only a few New Zealand dollars will be worth about 100000000 pounds according to my expert prediction.

Captain,

Last time I checked the Pound was 2.4 to the Matabele Gumbo Bead.

Potentially 2 takers from Wellington - the timing is not good with The son & heir's school having it's 125th Jubilee at the same time but I think I have evaded my responsibilities!!

We have a few things to sort out. Do either Captain Chook (ccook72@gmail.com ?) or Valleyboy have an email address or even phone number that could aid our deliberations? The front/home page of my site (in my signature at the bottom of this post) has an email address that could be used if anyone wants to get me off list.

Just an update to say that we have a table confirmed and are now working on a scenario, the size of what we end up with will depend on the likely no of participants

If anyone has any queries you could pm me here or by e mail on
