What an absolutely magic game! Days like this are what wargaming is all about. It was great to meet up with old sparring partners and new, and I look forward to many more.

Gaming highlights had to be Billy's indestructible hero surviving four wounds, the incredible disappearing/reappearing cossacks, the marsh that "ambushed" Jim's first brigade and last but by no means least the Alexandria Hussars gloriously sweeping all before them!

Thoroughly enjoyed everyones company and a great game played with a great attitude to having fun. It also looked as if my freshly painted battalion of Saxons and Bumblebee gun aquitted themselves well in their first outing and inspired me to get more painted but they will have to wait a bit until I crack on with my FPW French for use in our up and coming Alma game.

It's certainly a gripping day when one has to resort to bribery and invective to get some Manoeuvre Points from one's own CiC.

As far as the swamp is concerned, when one umpire moves my brigade up a couple of feet into a better position to watch a beaming smile creep across my face followed by Davidovitch with a swamp in one hand and rolling a D6 several times with the other whilst trying to keep a straight face, you know that no good is going to come of it.

I can also see an Arms Race developing in Battalion Guns. Those wee lads pulled well above their weight.

What a brilliant day! I'll leave you with a couple of memories:

Can only second all of the above, a really good day's gaming with great mates.

Well done to Tsar O'Brien for coming up with a really unusual but enjoyable scenario, not quite the same without some frogs though especially cuirassiers.

Looking forward to meeting up for August (unless there's a Whitburn game in between).

And again. just like to echo what everyone else has said. Great day, thanks to Barry and Dave for organising it and everyone for making it enjoyable. It looked spectacular as ever.

And I'd like to think it was my inspiring leadership that gave the Russians their crushing victory over the lick spittle French coat hangers on :)

At least thats what it says in MY after action report to the tzar.....

Although I'm sure my face was a picture when all those ones came up in a row for resolve tests

And I'd also like to thank Jim for rolling 3 consecutive 1's to charge home on my Jaeger

Cheers

I was originally thinking about 1814 and the Guard for the next weekender but we might be able to squeeze such a game into a 1 dayer at Whitburn sometime before August. Again, depends on player availability for that.

Such a choice would probably move August at Lundin Links into 1813 Land and the Befreiungskriege... now where did I put those Saxons, Prussians, Austrians, Russians, Swedes, Wurttemburgers, French, Poles, Bavarians, Westphalians and eh.... oh yes,, French
