Not sure if this is of any interest to people, but I have given some thought to sabots for light infantry skirmishers.
Essentially I am basing my skirmishers on double hex bases. I the beginning I had planned to do the same with the light infantry regiments and paint regular stands for them (4 minis based 40mm x 40mm) as well as skirmisher bases (double hex), but went for half bases (40mm x 20mm) instead. This year I had Warbases cut me some sabots to make sure light infantry and regular infantry match up. The results can be found here:
