Charge distances

, 'Hi all
I am new to the rules and in fact am just giving them my first thorough read through, but am a little confused on charges. If I have a unit move to charge distance from an enemy unit then as I understand it the enemy must take a charge threat test. Suppose I then want to charge that same unit with the threatening one at the charge declaration stage. How far can I move given that the unit has already moved to get to the point where it forces a threat test? I am thinking of a situation where my unit has already used up most of its move to reach that point and so would not have enough move left to reach the enemy.Would I charge using exploitation?
Apologies if this seems like a stupid question.
Cheers
Keith

As soon as you come within charge move distance the threatened unit can take a charge threat reaction but only if you have attack orders.
Once you have done that the threatening unit can continue to advance closer by exploitation if you have enough command points and remember you need to keeps points back to be able to finally declare a charge.

The other thing to remember is that charge declarations come after all movement and shooting and the charging unit must be on attack orders to declare a charge. There are a couple of situations where it is possible to charge without being on attack orders but I don't want to confuse your querie.

I hope this helps?
Cheers
