Charging the Guns

Post by CoffinDodger » Tue Jan 26, 2010 5:05 pm

A squadron of cavalry decides to charge a gun. The cannon is a field piece using four dice and has not fired upon this squadron before so it is a new target requiring "10s" to hit.

Assuming the RAPID FIRE optional rule is in place, can the cannon fire three times and, if so, would the second and third firings be at normal ranges i.e., not necessarily requiring a "10" to hit?

Regards,

Jim

A gun being charged by a unit which is a first time target ignores the ‘new target 10s to hit’ rule and takes the ‘to hit’ score straight from the Artillery Hits Table.

Jim above from the newest version of BLB2.. I thought you had this copy.. Have you been failing to do your homework laddie?? :x

Also, BLB 2 doesn't have the additional Artillery options; Bombardment, Rapid Fire, ammo limits etc in place yet.

Being civilian gunners would they rapid fire at charging horse or rather run for their lives?

Barry,

I don't know how I missed that one (should have gone to Specsavers). Thanks for the quick reply.
