Post by Voltiguer » Mon Dec 20, 2010 6:03 pm

Hi,

I doing regiments of the Jacobite rebellion of 1745-46. The colours for the regiments are they those of the 1747 regulations? If so, does anybody know where i could find in 28mm the colours ot the 21st regiment (north british fuzileers); I found one at reiver castings under british seven year war flags , but think that it is not right? Any help,

Thanks,

Hi Voltiguer,
The flags on the Reiver Castings site were made to go with the Jacobite Rebellion 1745.

They were originally constructed to go with a painting order for all of the units at Culloden which one day I'm sure the owner will allow us to wargame with at one of the shows. We'll need a large space though as he wanted them 1 figure = 10 men scale!

18th Century British Colours didn't change all that much and most can be used for the majority of the period after 1740 up to the end of the century.

Would the regimenal colour then be the same as during the AWI , a dark blue field with in the centre the design as you described and in three corners GR? For the uniform i took the 1742 clothing book as in the Funken book, is that ok?

Thanks Churchill,

Happy holidays
