Confused the devil out of me that did, couldn't figure what Charlie Chaplin had to do with the Cameronians. Finally the penny dropped, it should be 'chaplain'.
Indeed the cross most definitely has to go; in fact the plainer (tending toward severe) the paint job the better. Purple would hint at bishops, anathema to the Presbyterian Kirk.
