With Bill asking so nicely (and a few of the other Weekender attendees 'fishing' for snippets of 'intel') I've decided to give you a morsel about the March game.......

......surfice to say on the terrain conveyer belt tonight we have:

.....26ft of 'river sections'
......a Windmill
......some 'boggy/marsh' tiles
......some 'pond tiles'

.......and of course......a 'cuddly Blucher'

amoungst other 'goodies'!!!!

Answers on a post card to the usual address!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adrian,

let me guess:

1813, somewhere south, close to Berlin, 3 "french" Corps on their way north blunder into the Allies, Prussian, Swedes "..and God knows who else".

The "Frenchies": Italians, Saxons, Wurttembergers, Bavarians and some other German speaking Natives

How far have I missed it?

Looking forward...

Bautzen?

Blucher - Check
Windmill - Check
Marsh - Check
Ponds - Check
River - Check
Imperial Guard - Check
Rotten French Cavalry - Check (after what happened at the Mockern weekend game ;) )

I'm no expert on this time period/campaign so its most definitely a guess.

Mmmmmm......interesting guesses!

However, in the true tradition of Gentlemanly Conduct (a Gentleman never divulges.....however I ain't no Gentleman!) I can not reveal anything.........at this stage.........

In the best tradition of organising these Weekender's I think I'll release more 'intel' over the coming days and see how/if it changes your thoughts.

My hunch is that it's Lutzen we'l be confronted with. If only Bessieres had lived a little longer the cavalry would have had a competent leader instead of that nutter Murat.

Just sorting some travel out - what time do we need to be there for on Friday and when is the likely finish time Sunday?

Cheers,
Colin

Colin,

The plan is arrive early evening,6ish, meet the rest of the guys, sort the rooms out etc. Then dinner followed by briefings and looking at all the nice toys and Ade's fantastic terrain.
After that retire to the bar.

Aim to finish between 3pm & 4pm on Sunday.

See you next week

Bob

I'll be leaving work in Manchester at 3-3.30 so plan on being at the hotel around 5. You'll be able to find me in the bar from then onwards.

Any more tidbits of information to throw our way? pretty piccies, or even just biccies? :)

Gents

UPDATE:

With regards to Colin's query (Toggy covered off on previous posting), we will be finishing around 3.00pm Sunday.

Please note that your Friday meal is not included in the Weekender Package so please eat prior to attending or feel free to eat at the hotel. All other meals are 'in the package'.

Details about 'booking in' at hotel will be sent to each of you via email and a few other 'snippets and things to bring' will also be in the email.

For those of you attending (and those of you following info about The Weekender) we will be fighting....................

..........................BAUTZEN.................

.......although a few people guessed this......no one actually sent in 'the winning postcard'!!!!..........

.........so no prizes for this.

However......there are a 'few goodies and prizes' to be dished out actually on the weekend....!!!!???!!!!

Can't wait for next weekend..........Let Battle Commence!!!!!

Apologies in advance....but if there are any postings or questions this weekend, I'll not be able to reply.....I leave for 'Dodge City' in the morning for a weekend of gunslinging mayhem on a LoGW Weekender up in Kirriemuir. A complete weekend of 'Wild West sculduggery' is being organised by Colin Jack and Peter Nicholson for our annual LoGW March meet-up.....!!
