Barry,
Clarence,

THANK YOU!
They look splendid. An Order will come soon with a possible delivery at Derby? What I cant make out by the pictures: Are the studs of a different colour?

Mark(?) aka Turrabear,
The figures are already there as the colours/Flags were in use from the early period of the Saxon envolvement in the GNW from 1701 until 1704.
It will be, more or less, accurate to use them until 1706 and the peace of Altransteadt as the flags got often reissued in this time.
To make things worse there were no less than 9 :!: flag designs, drawn by the kings own hand, in the time from 1699 to 1716.

Best Wishes,
Günter

Barry,

You know I will need all flagsheets twice and the guard flags trippled
Let me count that together....22x2 plus 2x3 = 50 sheets...
GBP 300.- all together then. Ouch!

I got a feeling like the Saxon State of August the Strong..BBB -Beautiful but bankrupt!

Btw., how does this work with the sizes you mention with the flags in the shop?
Will that be the size on the flagstaff? You know, Saxons liked their flags like bed linen...so they were easy to identify by their commanders when they were on the run

Best Wishes,
Günter

Jim,

Easy to say :) Delusions of grandeur! :D

Historical each of the 12 Companies would have carried a flag.
My choice therefore are 3 flags with each battalion. Looks better.

The Regiments in the Field are splitted in 2 or 3 Battalions.
The First Battalion has 1 Leibfahne(White field) and 2 Company Flags (Coloured field).
The Second Battalion has 3 Company flags.
I hope you see where this leads?

The First Part of my army will be 17 Infantry Battalion from 8 Regiments.
And as I love this Saxons, I will do the remaining 4 Regiments as well at a later date.

Cheers,
Günter

Barry,

Thanks again. I think a had a slight miscalculation. Jim's question kicked me in the direction of thinking it over.
One sheet contains the Colours for the 1st of two(or three) battalions of 2 Regiments. 12 sheet's are available. Only the Saxon and the Polish Guard will have more battalions.
4 Battalions of the 2 Regiments will need 3 sheets.
That gives 3 white and 6 coloured flags for each Regiment. Enough for 2 Battalions (6 flags) - 2 White flags, 1 Coloured flag left over, no problem.
As there are two Regiments on each sheet and 12 sheets are there I would need 36 sheets, not 50, as stated before. Sorry.
So that's GBP 216 and not 300 as calculated before.

Günter

Barry,

in addition to what I had posted above and the choices of Flagsize I repeat here what I have posted earlier:

The Flag type would be that of 1701, 2,70m x 3,35m in Size. The size to be printed should be 45mm height and 55mm long.
A huge size but in scale to the 28mm figure.

Will this be a manageable goal with your Hightech Printer?

Best Wishes,
Günter
