New Book on GNW in English

Post by Dfogleman2 » Mon May 04, 2015 8:08 pm

This looks interesting. "Great Northern War Compendium." Two paperback volumes in color, over fifty articles and 600 pages. June appears to be the target date. Perhaps Tacitus or some of our other Swedish friends know more about it?

Nice find Danny!
Sounds interesting. Hopefully not written from someone with a big Ego!
„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.

Here is some more info that I got from Steve Kling, who is the editor of the book:

"As this is a niche subject for those of us who are passionate about it, I would appreciate it if you would let any other GNW enthusiasts know about it. The niche market and print costs for a publication this large are not going to permit using a normal distributor without raising the price substantially, which I don't want to do. I am using the email sign up list to assist with a guesstimate on the print run.

This project started with Einar Lyth (Swedish co-author of Vagen till Poltava) who asked if I could publish something in English and in color. It grew from there and we have almost 50 authors, professors and other experts from Sweden, Russia, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Finland, the Ukraine, the UK and the US. Many have published GNW books and articles in their native languages and were very enthusiastic about doing an international effort in English to educate about this war."

My friends Axel, Sam and of course me would be very interested in those books. If you could let me know when they become available I would very much appreciate it.

When visiting the comsimworld site I got the impression it was actually a card driven game, but I probably overlooked something.

Thanks very much!

They are publishing a board game but this is actually a book. There is a contact form on the website where you can leave a message that you are interested in the book.
