Kalmar Regiment...

Post by Russian James » Wed Jun 10, 2015 9:10 pm

I realise it's slightly outwith our period, but wondered if anyone had any information on an ancestor of my partner...

Sir Alexander of Irvingholm, Sjohsmmar (sp?) and Ljungnas, 1593 - 1659, was Colonel of the Kalmar Regiment.
He moved to Sweden in 1608 with his father.

Sue's family seems to have got around, another ancestor was killed at Minden fighting for the Prussians.

Here is a book on the Kalmar Regiment's chefs. Scroll down and you will find your man (at least it appears to be him).
