Russian Swedish standards

Post by turrabear » Sat Mar 26, 2016 12:39 am

Could any body please help me out with a small problem.
Did Russian infantry battalions all carry a white colonels colour or did the second battalion only carry coloured standards.
Also I take it that both battalions of a Swedish infantry regiment carried a white colonels standard and coloured standards.
Once again many thanks for your help.

I believe that in both armies, the white color was carried by the first, or as the Swedish termed it, "livbattalion." Pretty sure there was only one livfana per regiment.
