Salute demo /participation games

Post by msk » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:22 am

Hi Barry,

I see from the Salute '09 site that you're scheduled to run a demo game *and* a participation game this year. Is that correct? And will these games be using the R2E ruleset? I, for one, will be one Southerner interested in seeing them in action.

Best wishes,
Martin

Haven spoken with Barry about going to Salute I'm sure you will find that the game he is running at Salute will be using the Victrix rules that he also wrote. The display game at Partizan in May will be using the R2E rules. No doubt Barry will correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers
Dave

Dave.. completely right(as usual)

The game at SALUTE is a 6 x 6 custom built Peninsular terrain piece which will utilise mainly(perhaps exclusively) VICTRIX figures. I will run some turns and let people throw a few dice using The march of Eagles rules which currently in an abridged form come free with Victrix boxed sets. These are brigade level rules with the emphais placed on fun and 'characters as opposed to Republic to Empire which is also fun! but Divisional to Army level 'serious Napoleonic gaming.

MSK .. pls come along for a chat!

And since Martin has kindly offered to escort me to and from Salute I'll probably pop along for a chat as well at some stage. In case you don't know Martin - I'll be the one with the kiwi accent! 8)

I love it when my wife agrees to let me time our home trips to coincide with major wargames shows!

Hello Valleyboy

We meet again ... electronically and not in person. How big can Salute be? We're bound to meet up! How many Kiwis with Welsh accents can there be at Salute?!
