I see Foundry have released a new range of 1806 Prussians

Just wish they were tad cheaper, like Front Rank etc!

Always liked this era the best for Napoleonics (and 1813).

They look OK but I haven't felt the need to suddenly rush out and buy some, something missing and not sure what.

I think you are being kind

The anatomy is poor and they look like throw backs to some of the less well designed ranges of the 90's. Don't like them at all.

I think Foundry have pretty much had their day now.

I wasn't happy with them either. I have tons of Foundry Napoleonics and was excited when I learned there were new models coming out, but I have to say I am underwhelmed...

The sculptor, Michael Percy, did some nice work for SHQ in 20mm in the past, but I must agree that while nice, it's definitely not up to the standards previously established by the Perrys and others for the Foundry.

At the price they're advertising to US customers, they are most definitely not worth it.

Colbert.. are you Norwegian? If so, you have a masterful grasp of English or dare I even say, Scottish put downs!!! My guess is that you are an ex pat Scot working in the Oil industry!!!

Greg.. also loved Floundry... was that a mistype or a joke

Poor anatomy, wooden poses, inaccurate uniform items (huge bicornes). This era, and the Peninsular Portuguese, are just crying out for a decent range of modern figures. The 1806 Prussians and Saxons in particular have no real proponents other than the elderly, heavenward gazing, Elite range.

Not the greatest sculpts ever, but not too bad in my view. The bicornes are too big, but the Grenadiers look nice.
Foundry have an illustrious history, which unfortunately in a way, means that anything they put out will be judged against the figures their best sculptors did in the past. Fair enough, for their cost the figures should be of the highest rate.
However its a tough situation for their new sculptors to find themselves in.

appreciate your empathy with fellow Sculptors... commendable

but the fact is people have to turn over their cash..it's not like your patting a school child on the head to encourage them for their good efforts even if they are not so good. It's commercial reality. Produce poor product.. get no sales.
Foubdry have been at the forefront of extreme price pointing for ever. To me the fault is not with the sculptor it is with Foundry, they choose the sculptor. Their product development function is at fault as is their quality control. These figures don't compare well with competitor products that's the situation as I see it.
