And who makes those figures? You've done a very nice job here. Wonderful look and they should kick the backside of all who oppose them.

I suspect they are Front Rank. Very nice indeed. Congratulations, beautiful looking unit.

Barry,

Both the first and second battalions of the 33rd (each 36 figures) will appear complete with skirmishers, spare officers and an engineer base for assaulting BUAs along with a few guest personalities who, being lead miniatures, can probably sing better than the winner of tonight's X Factor.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

That's a very nice looking unit Jim it's just a pity that the Borodino weekend will be their first outing, you know what happens to every new unit the first time they appear on the battlefield :)

Getting there. The 10" Gribeauval mortar is specifically for the Russian Clergy. Dona eis requiem sempiternam.

Since Front Rank don't do artillerymen in bicornes, I have taken Dave O'Brien's idea on board and used suitably disguised Spanish figures. At a distance, they do the job. Oh, and before you start, I do realise that there are no rules for mortars in RtE, but that's never stopped me before.

That's very kind of you Jim but I think you'll find the priests don't need any help.
Nice paint job on the figures BTW.

There is a mortar rule in BLB.. WE COULD APPLY IT!

Jim,

Nicely done, the unit will probably serve well in the battles to come.
What base size have you used? 45x45mm? or larger?

Cheers

Günter

All my infantry are based on 50mm x 50mm bases with six figures to each base. Skirmishers are two figures to a 40mm diameter round base. The mortar and crew are on a 50mm diameter round base.

Cavalry will be two figures to a 50mm square base.

Artillery will be on 50mm x 100mm bases with limbers on 50mm x 130mm and caissons on 50mm x 70mm. This will mean a battery of three 8pdr* models and a 6" howitzer will occupy a frontage of 200mm and a depth of 300mm.

All bases are 3mm deep MDF.

Regards,

Jim

*I'm actually using 12pdr models (they are the same price as 8pdrs and well, I am Scottish) to serve as 8pdrs due to a stuff-up on my part when I first ordered from Front Rank.

Colourfull chaps, all of them, Jim! The mortar crew even have a hint of 'piratical swagger' about them.
