Basing System for 28mm

Post by TIMUR57 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 10:07 am

Dear Friends
I'm thinking to paint units of Prussian and French for 1813/1814 period.
I've not yet decided the rules, so, I'd like basing my figures with size useful for RtE, Lasalle and other good set of Napoleonic rules.
Do you think is it possible???
Have you seen basing system of Steve Maugham....units with 24 figs. in 3 ranks whit stands 6X6???? Do you think these units are usable with RtE rules????

Thanks for help and compliments from Italy!!!

There are no basing requirements in R2E you just count the number of figures in the unit or on their roster sheet so if you want to fight other rules (why would you?) then I would suggest you base up for those rules since they are obviously not as flexible as R2E. Personally my Russians and Saxons in 24 figure units are based as four 6 figure bases with each figure on a 15mm frontage whereas my French Guard are based as four 8 figure bases on a 15mm frontage. My Americans and Brits for the 1812 war are all based four figures on a 40x40mm base.
Hope this helps?
Dave
