Post by Hart Force » Mon Jan 14, 2008 10:58 pm

Hi

I just played a ULB game at my local gaming club and was wondering where I could find the ULB rule set.

Thanks

Well the local club is the LSHM in Austin, Texas. And I was able to get in on the second half of a meeting engagement scenario b/w the Dutch and the French and it ended in a pretty indecisive French Victory.

The person who was supervising the game told me I could come here and could find the rules.

My e-mail is: [email protected]

Thanks
Michael

Hi, I didn't realise you were still emailing out the rules. I just finished reading Micheal Mc Nally's Battle of the Boyne and am am fired up and ready to go. Could you email a set of the rules and I can make a start on organising units and ordering figures. I was going to use Dixon's figures or is there anyone else I should be looking at. I would prefer animated poses as I am sure the aggressive posture is rewarded by the dice. Although, now I do recall some of my best painted units fleeing at a whiff of danger - a mere aberration I'm sure.
Many thanks.

Hi

Just bought some Figures for the battle of the boyne for a club project from Rieiver miniatures at under the bed enterprises. There quite animated and you get lots of different poses in a pack.

Jim.

Hopefully I'll be painting some of those soon Jim as there is a batch in the post to me too!

I am doing them for some photos of Reiver Castings which are going into Beneath the Lily Banners

The Reiver stuff arrived this morning... I am very impressed by it 8) I had never closely looked at it before at trade shows other than to notice there was a lot of it
The style is what I would call 'cartoony' but that is not a criticism (Dixons Grand Alliance stuff.. long my favourites are also extremely cartoony).

I received some Irish Raparees, infantry command, Armoured horse and Saxons. I don't know who the figure designer is but I seem to recognise the style from somewhere.

Some of these figs will appear in BLB so I better get started on the painting!

Hello Barry, joy of the day to you.

Are you now looking at a spring release for 'Beneath the Lily Banners' and do you have a price range in mind.

cheers

Ed Hi... I know it seems like Billy Bunter's postal order (which never arrived for those of you who never read Billy Bunter which was essential schoolboy reading in 60's UK).... but we are there bar the shouting. The constraints on us are simply production time for Clarence and I who both travel a lot throughour jobs and this stops our important BLB work>
CASH is there to fund
PRINT DEAL is arranged
PRINT TURNAROUND TIME: 3 -4 weeks max
DISTRIBUTION: BEING ARRANGED NOW

What is missing... two small sections for inclusion - A scenario based around Neerwinden and some odd pages into which we will squeeze as much info and value as poss.
Have not decided on cover price definitively but it will be in the range £12.50 - £15.00 Sterling I think.

Quality should be at least as good as type of products issued by BATTLEFRONT to support FoW but the format will be quite different.

I would hope the release is nearer end Feb than begin April. It will be worth waiting for.. Clarence and I are really excited about it and can't wait to get it out there 8)

I will have a look at Reivers, thanks for the heads up.

I have read the rules and they look very good. Can't wait to try them.

One question though. The morale sections mention death of brigadiers and CinC but I see no reference to how these are killed nor how they move. Am I just not seeing it?

Paddy, an omission from ULBIV  now corrected in Beneath the Lily Banners - it is done as a percentage chance against total casualties in that fire combat or melee.

Generals move at Cavalry charge speed :D
