Northern Wars site closed down

Post by parkinspieces » Mon Sep 01, 2008 10:06 pm

:( It appears Dan has decided to close his site as from today :cry: Tis indeed a sad day for Great Northern War gamers, just as I had started to paint my first Swedish unit :x

See Link below;

You can get access to Dan's information via the 'Wayback Machine' - here's the URL to see Dan's website.

Hello,

It appears that the book store is still open. Hopefully I am not wrong as I was waiting for my house to sell and I was going to start buying them. I also am about to work on my first Swedish unit. :(

Why has Dan closed it?

From Dan's website;

"This site closed. With the proliferation of "experts", it has outlived its usefulness, and I am no longer able to add to it or adequately maintain it."

I e-mailed Dan and thanked him from all of us for providing his site over the past years.

Dan said that the site is not completely dead and that an overhaul is needed with the site hopefully re-appearing within the next year. He said that he is willing to provide information to anyone who contacts him on dan@northernwars.com in the meantime.

He's still out there and I've noticed from recent postings to the site that he is still adding his expertise. I for one am glad about this as he has been a major influence to me. Thanks again Dan.
